AIRInG
The DMA's Air Interest Group (AIRInG) is made up of DMA Members who have declared a particular interest or involvement in defence, policing and security business in the Air environment, both for the UK and overseas markets.
The aim of the group is to provide a focus for opportunites for company development, mutual co-operation, an up-to-date understanding of the MoD (UK) requirements and to help Members to gain export business overseas. The Group plans to meet approximately every two months, usually with, on occasion, a guest speaker.
In addition, the DMA will arrange:
- Industry Days to Air Front Line Commands and Stations for Members to become better acquainted with the issues of the Front Line Customer 2
- Seminars and other events in the best interests of the Members
- Overseas workshops and missions to help develop partnering arrangements and export activities
- Shared/managed stands at selected Air Environment Exhibitions
- Email service providing a Tendering and Opportunities Bulletin and up-to-date news in acquisition in the Air environment around the world.
Membership of the group is open to all DMA Member companies at no extra cost, although there may be a voluntary marketing levy. Participants receive all the benefits of the DMA's activities as full DMA Members, including representation of Members' concerns to Government.
The following are the terms of reference of the DMA Air Interest Group:
- Providing advice and initiatives in support of the UK MoD Air requirements and capabilities
- Furthering the representations and aspirations of the UK Air, Defence and public security Industries
- Providing a focal point for advice and initiatives in support of UK Air exports
- Promoting and fostering a close liaison with the UK Ministry of Defence, DTI, Trade Partners, and other professional bodies
- Providing a focal point which industry can use to represent its views to HMG
- Promoting guidance to the DMA Executive on events in which Members wish to participate
