CLING
The Clothing Interest Group (CLING) was formed by the DMA to support those member companies who have an involvement in the supply and manufacture of the full range of military clothing, personnel protection, and combat support equipment both for the UK and overseas markets.
The purpose behind this group is to provide opportunities for mutual cooperation, an up to date understanding of the MOD procurement organisation and help in export business. It has the full support of the MOD, who are ex offcio members. The Group meets 3 to 4 times a year, usually at the premises of one of the members, and attends a number of international exhibitions. The Chairman is elected annually by the members, and the DMA provides the Secretary back up. The members receive all the benefits of the DMA’s activities as full DMA members, including representation of members concerns to Government.
Membership of the group is restricted to UK registered companies with a manufacturing or development capability in the UK either supplying items or components.
The scope of the group’s activities cover military operational clothing, uniform clothing, safety clothing including specialist aircrew and marine, diving clothing, personal protection equipment, combat support stores such as tents, sleeping bags, webbing, survival stores.
